StudentLinc overview

Today's college students experience higher levels of depression, anxiety and stress than any prior generation, leaving mental health counseling centers on university or college campuses stretched for resources. This surge in the number of students who are experiencing severe mental health issues implies that university mental health services will become even more strained in the future.

StudentLinc, a CuraLinc Healthcare program, helps colleges, universities and other post-secondary schools support student health initiatives and reduce student attrition by providing confidential and professional counseling for behavioral health concerns that may affect students personally or impact their performance at school, including:

  • Alcohol-related concerns

  • Transition and/or adjustment issues

  • Stress related to coursework and career planning

  • Abuse of prescription and recreational drugs

  • Cultural diversity issues

  • Eating disorders and/or body image concerns

  • Suicidal or homicidal ideations

The majority of these issues can be addressed within StudentLinc without having to refer the student to a higher level of treatment, though obvious exceptions occur when the problem is life-threatening and requires immediate medical attention.

Integration

StudentLinc can be integrated to function effectively within a student health management strategy. The program will coordinate referrals and exchange data with disease management, nurse line, telemedicine or a student health center.

Plan design options

CuraLinc offers two plan design options for the StudentLinc program:

  • Core The Core plan design option provides clients and their students with around-the-clock access to licensed mental health counselors that are focused on delivering in-the-moment support, guidance and advocacy.

  • Enhanced The Enhanced option includes Core, as well as a comprehensive menu of additional features, including face-to-face counseling from CuraLinc’s nationwide network of clinicians, emotional fitness coaching (‘text therapy’) and a self-serve digital behavioral health platform.
